Preparedness is top of mind on and off the job

Nuclear power plants are well-prepared for unlikely events; are you?

Nuclear power plants are some of the safest, most secure facilities in the United States. The facilities themselves are incredibly robust, made to protect against even the most unlikely scenarios, including natural disasters.

Part of a nuclear power plant’s strength is its preparedness and planning. We expect our nuclear stations to operate safely, and we work hard to keep our plants – and our communities – safe. But it's wise to always be prepared.

It’s also a good idea for your family to prepare ahead of time for any emergency. Your family may not be together when an emergency strikes, so it’s important to discuss what you will do in different situations.

Ready.gov provides helpful resources to help you create a family emergency plan. Want to learn more about nuclear emergency preparedness? Visit duke-energy.com/NuclearEP.
